Here’s my run down from this last week for the Sunday Sevens:
MONDAY
The 16th March is Childrens Day in our family. It started back in 1982 when I was 11. When my sister & I had children we carried on the tradition for them but we still get a card a pressie from mum & dad. As I worked the day before which was Mothers Day I decided to take my mum to the cinema to see the 2nd Best Marigold Hotel. And I wore my Victoria Blazer!! It’s been a while since this came out of the wardrobe!
As we walked into the cinema it was pitch black. Not just a bit black, like really black. We walked in and when I got to the end of the seat I turn around but couldn’t see my mum. I waited a few seconds and called her name, then set off back into the darkness to find her. Then, BANG! We walked into each other. I screamed! She screamed! Then we both cracked up laughing, but we still couldn’t see each other!
TUESDAY
My dad fooling around pretending he’s a teenager pouting with a selfie stick!
WEDNESDAY
This arrived in the post all the way from America! It’s for my new Craftsy Class which I bought 1/2 price in the sale! Last year I bought the Islander Jacket class, watched it, traced off the pattern (so many pieces!) but never bought any fabric. Hopefully I’ll make both this year and learn lots on the way.
THURSDAY
I nearly started my first quilt. I got as far as arranging it but not decided what pattern to do. I might get a plain colour to put with the charm pack I bought. I’ve bought the dark colour for the reverse and the pale for the border.
FRIDAY
David’s the recipitant of the London Tea Cosy . He called in for a cuppa with Martin. Such a fab bloke!
SATURDAY
Waiting for the boys to come back from cricket training so we can have a full breakfast for lunch. This is a rare treat, but hopefully now Thimberlina’s moved her stuff upstairs we’ll be able to eat more round the table as a family
SUNDAY
Today I played golf at Rotherham Golf club today for the Yorkshire Mid-Amatuer Team against the Yorkshire Vets. Here’s me and Sarah after our match, smiling despite being thrashed! She played well, but if I want to secure my place in the team I need to practice more and sew less!! The team lost 3 1/2 to 1 1/2, but it was a gorgeous sunny day and for about an hour I was in shirt sleeves – first time this year!
Before I left for golf I had to do this:
I had to let out the back seam of my black pants as they’re the only black golf type I have and they’re a bit snug. Luckily they’re the amazing fit ones and I’d previously taken them in after making them so wasn’t such a big job. I made them about 18 months ago, shown in this post here.
Your Sunday post is always so interesting – thank you!
And you’re starting to quilt. Wish you much success with it, but admit I’ve never had that urge… or whatever it is that makes people sew all those ickle pieces together. 🙂
Hope you have a great week! xx del
I’ve taken the easy route by buying pre cut squares. Didn’t want to make my first one too time consuming and get put off! x
Ah! Now I understand. And still have absolutely no desire to follow that path!
🙂
“if I want to secure my place in the team I need to practice more and sew less!!”
NOW THAT’S JUST CRAZY TALK.
Haha! You’re right there! 😂
You’re really getting I to this Sunday Sevens this week. Great photos and I love the cinema story 🙂
It was funny, it’s hard to make it sound as funny written down. I was hoping it didn’t found like one of those ‘you had to be there’ stories. 😀
Love the selfie stick style pose – so true! Bought loads as Christmas presents for teens/twenties and they’re used an awful lot. Would you recommend Craftsy classes then? I’ve been tempted, I must admit.
Definitely! It’s how I learnt to crochet, then I learnt the rest on a site called ‘new stitch a day’. I end up watching them but not making anything, like I did with the jacket. But I did learn how to attach sleeves an easy way and only use 3 pins! 😃
Thanks, that’s good to know:)
I only buy them when they’re half price, which is quite often, so it’s worth keeping an eye out. 😃
The cinema story made me laugh too! I’m always worried about falling over on the steps in the cinema!
I’m off to check Craftsy classes now too!
Luckily it wasn’t too busy with it being during the day!😄
I love your week summaries….. so cute! The quilting fabric is lovely 🙂
Thanks, I’m looking forward to making the quilt in between other projects but it’s hard to find the time at the minute 😀
Your quilt is looking great so far! Can’t wait to see how it turns out. 🙂
Thanks, if it’s half as good as yours I’ll be pleased! 😃
I love these posts! Can’t wait to meet you! Xx
Feel like we know each other anyway! Blogging is the modern way of having pen pals I think! 😀
