Sunday Sevens Week 37 (me12)

Hello from Sunny at last Yorkshire! Not quite scorching but glimpses of blue sky 2 days running!

Here’s my run down and 7-ish photos from the last week. I’m doing this on my phone so bit tricky to link to Natalie’s blog over at threads & bobbins but I’ll change it when I’m less mobile!

1. Living the dream.  Chicken curry and chips on my last night shift, and catch up with my WordPress reader.

2. My niece came round to borrow my machine for some college work.

3. I didn’t play golf on Tuesday as the weather was horrendous. This was an hour after we decided not to play! 😕

4. Hand stitching in my car, too cold to watch the cricket outside. Note elevated right leg (with dodgy circulation) attempting to the prevent the inevitable DVT.

5. Played golf in the A team match. I got whooped and the team lost. We played at Horsforth Golf Club. One of the holes is adjacent to the runway of Leeds & Bradford airport.  Here’s a plane coming in…

6. Noticed my baskets had greenfly so gave them a bowl of cold soapy water!

7. Finally we have sunshine and can watch cricket with proper cricket weather!

I’d too many photos this week so George is staring as the feature image!

I sew and play golf. I blog about my sewing as I don't think you'd want to read about my golf. It's bad enough watching it on telly! Contact me via email - Thimbers.blog@gmail.com

  1. Lots of pictures including lovely blue sky – we just need temperatures to rise a little now! Your hanging basket is very pretty! Look forward to seeing what your hand sewing turns into 🙂

    • The hand sewing… I was sewing on the buttons onto my cabernet cardigan and sewing in loose ends. Hope i’ve not disappointed you!

    • I was sparko by 10pm! I even watched TV sunday and I couldn’t even be bothered to crochet whilst watched it!. Raring to go again today tho!

    • Aw, he is a cutie isn’t he! He’s a bit like a baby tho – wouldn’t want him full time! And he stinks from the rear end too…. (sorry, too much information!)

  2. What a busy week! I’m intrigued about what your niece is making?! I’m also very jealous of your curry 😀

    • She’s doing free hand embroidery and making lace! I was very impressed, I didn’t know my old machine could do that!

    • PS the curry is the best! a little hut near station and he always throws in a freebie starter as a surprise!

  3. Blimey, those planes would have made me jump flying so close! Shame your golf plans were scuppered but lucky for you the cricket could go ahead – bloody fickle weather!

    • The planes were really distracting, couldn’t really blame me loosing the match on them, but they were coming in every few minutes and it was all really exciting (to me, the other women was used to it cos she plays there all the time!). Scuppered golfing plans made time to finish off my Cardi so wasn’t all bad!

    • The hedges take some keeping up to (for hubby – he’s out there now, i’m too short to help, phew!). We used to have all sorts in the garden, but as it’s just used for footie and cricket we keep it low maintenance now (except for the hedges!) …more time for sewing!

  4. Look at all that blue sky–glad spring has finally found you! I can’t believe how close that plane was; must have been quite the racket.

    • The planes were really noisy, I found it all too exciting – taking photos instead of concentrating and trying to beat my opponent!

Great to see such a lovely shot of George. As a writer it looks like a real page turner of a week, lots of ups and down, but our resilient heroine keeps on sewing throughout and the story ends with her putting her feet up in the sunshine 🙂

  6. Keep forgetting to ask if you’d care to comment on that Limoncello you made. (Did you like it? Easy to follow? Any particular problems?) Am thinking about getting the pattern… Thank you! x

George is my favourite, although the curry & chips could be a close second … 🙂
