Sunday Sevens – invented by Natalie over at Threads & Bobbins. Letting you know what else we get up to outside our usual blog life!
After a hectic week in Taunton in Somerset I’m now back to share my week in seven photos with you. I’ve taken about 1,500 photos this week, so it’s been a bit tough to narrow in down! H plays cricket for Yorkshire and they were taking part in a cricket festival, playing teams from Ireland, Cheshire, Kent, Cornwall and Dubai! We came a respectable 2nd, which was fantastic considering we’re Yorkshire B team and we were playing all other A teams.
Chief photographer….. not entirely sure how this started but I tend to take all the photos, and upload them onto a Facebook Group I’ve created. (like I don’t have enough to do, lol!) Think I need to work on my posture!
At the entrance to our caravan site there’s these gorgeous sweet peas….
Went out for a curry to an Authentic Indian Restaurant. I had a seafood platter as a starter. I took this photo especially for my Sunday Sevens and didn’t notice until afterwards the shape of the prawns!! (bottom left)
Bought this amazing jacket – not sure what I’m going to do with it! It’s a big deal me buying clothes and I don’t do it lightly – last years RTW fast completely changed my outlook on shopping. This was in the sale at £50, should have been over £400!! I think the cuffs and the belt need to go – it looks like a smoking jacket!!…..watch this space!
We don’t often get a photo of the 3 of us, and when we do I’m always amazing by how much H has grown! Think he’ll need a new Yorkshire blazer for next year!
Some of the lads……. (H in the middle at the back – can just make him out).
On our way home on Saturday the M5 was crazy busy as usual so we decided to go to Brean Sands. We used to take H there camping when he was a lot younger, and we’d take his 4 cousins too. He went on all the rides at the fair and loved it, though he remembered it being a lot bigger! Here’s a then and now picture….
I’m hoping normal service will resume in my cyber/sewing life now I’m home and H has only 2 Yorkshire matches left. After being away and forgetting to take my iPad I’ve really gotten behind with all what you guys are up to. And I need to do my draw for my gadget giveaway which closed this last weekend. And I want to make some culottes!!
Before I go…. the kitchen! Isn’t it looking fabulous!? Mum’s just on with choosing paint, flooring and fabric for the curtains! I’ll have to invite you all round for tea when it’s finished! You won’t mind will you mum!?
looks like you had a great week. Wonder if we crossed on the M5 as we were heading back to Exeter from Wales! Just doing a bit of catching up myself.
Might have done! Hope you had a great holiday too! 🙂
yes thanks. Will wave in your general direction when we go up to Scotland in a week or so
Love family shots
Priceless aren’t they, but it’s hard to get them though, especially when it’s usually me with the camera. 🙂
Busy schedule!! Great pictures, too😀 Can’t wait for the drawing! 😆
Thanks Abi 🙂
Beautiful shots (oh those prawns……). Waiting to see how your “fix up” the smoking jacket. Great family photo, lovely one and all.
They’re a bit cheeky! I’ve just tried my jacket on again and I think I’m going to add a button, get rid of the sash and have it as a posh winter coat! 😉
Oh, that will be beautiful!! (and what a great buy)
Congratulations on the cricket placing. Very exciting. Love the family photo and the kitchen photo feature.
It was exciting, and the boys were still smiling despite loosing the last game. 🙂
Now, THAT is a jacket, looking forward to seeing what you come up with… It’s a fab print and you’ve got to love a bargain 🙂
It’s gonna be the poshest coat anyones ever worn with a pair of jeans! 😉
Your smoking jacket reminds me of a gifted one I’m still wondering what to do with – shhh! Your lad has grown tremendously, and deserves major congratulations or his playing this season. Know you’re proud! And Sir’s – er, your mum’s! – kitchen is coming on a treat. (Is that pillow on the range top for cooking – lol!) Great week for all – thank you for sharing!
Haha, the pillow is to see if it matches. Can you believe thimberlina’s mother has bought a cushion and ready make curtains!!! I keep offering my services but maybe she has services lined up for something else! :-0
He-he! She’s maybe saving the best for her daughter, rather than the boring bits!
A lovely week, although sounds like you might have RSI from all of that photography! I went to Pontins at Brean Sands when I was little, great to revisit childhood memories 🙂 The Indian sounds gorgeous, and yes the prawns did amuse me ☺️
I thought I’d do some sewing today but sorting all the photos is really time consuming, and then there’s the blogging too!
Brean is fab for the kids, we got a bit bored but there’s a costa coffee now so it makes it a bit more bearable! 🙂
A decent cafe makes all the difference I think ☕️
I’ve resorted to a glass of something pink and see though!
Jumping Jupiter what do you feed that boys his legs have to so long!!! Btw love the colours of the jacket …. I’m a big fan of red 😃
His dad has to buy 35″ inside leg and I think he’s gonna be bigger than him!
What a fab jacket – can’t wait to see what you do with it 🙂 Your parent’s kitchen is AMAZING!!
Hopefully I’ll just add a button and hey presto!! Or i’m thinking of contacting Harlequin who make belts when you supply the fabric Well, not you, I mean me! lol 😉
Oh what a lovely week you had!! 💝Yes, will be round for tea!! X
And cake! 🍰😃
Of course! You live in Yorkshire that goes without saying!!! 🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰
I grew up in Congresbury, about 10 miles East of Brean Down and know it very well. I LOVE your bargain jacket and reckon a posh coat would be amazing! Had no idea H was that tall (or is it just that you’re vertically challenged like me at 5’2″?). Lovely photo of the three of you and so pleased for H that the tour went so well. As for the kitchen – wow!
He’s huge!! I’m 5’4″ and feel lucky to have gotten to that dizzy height as my mum’s only 5’1″ and a bit. He caught me up when he was 11 and is now catching up with his Dad who’s 6’3″. I always wear heels when we go out – wonder if they do DIY espadrille wedges!
Your kitchen looks fabulous. But do you think a cushion on the hob is safe!!!!!!!?
Hope you enjoyed your busy week I thought your blog had been quiet.
It’s my mums kitchen – she’s been moving the cushion around to see if she likes it and moves it when the hob’s in action! 😀
Lovely pictures–what a busy week! Congrats to H on the cricket and to you on the jacket score; completely agree with doing away with the sash. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
What time should I come round for tea? 😉
Any time! The doors always open! 😀
I love the then and now pic! Lol at your seafood platter… And is that a whole crab?!
The legs were a little bit crunch but not too much. Can’t believe I ate it considering I can’t bring my self to eat white bait 😝
Kitchen’s looking fab 🙂 Glad you had a great week away. Love the smoking jacket, look forward to seeing what happens to than. As for the prawns…
The prawns are def a bit cheeky! I just can’t help but wonder if the chef did it on purpose! 😯
And if he didn’t what’s going on in his subconscious? 😉
Lol 😳
