Sunday Sevens #30 (me #5)

Hi Everyone! Happy Easter!  This is going to be a quick one…… I’ve had wine and my bed is calling me!

Monday

The photo above was taken whilst at work – Marsden in Huddersfield.   What a gorgeous day and even more gorgeous view!

Tuesday

I took delivery of my first ever proper piece of Liberty Cotton.  I say proper because I’ve had remnants but new THREE whole yards!! #sundaysevens 1 (5)

Wednesday

Harrison in the nets having his cricket coaching – he’s so excited as it’s only 2 weeks away to his first match of the season. #sundaysevens 1 (6)

Thursday

Can’t decide what colour couch we want for the front room.  Spent hours looking and still unsure!  This colour was a strong possibility on Thursday but now it’s Sundays it a no-no! #sundaysevens (11)

Friday

Harrison walking down the school drive ready to board the coach for his 26 hour journey to Italy! #sundaysevens (10)

Saturday

Childless and sunny so we went to play golf.  And I won! It’s a rare treat to play together, the last time we did was over a year ago when we went to Edinburgh. #sundaysevens 3 (3)

Sunday

Due to newly decorated front room, as per what usually happens, the rest of the house looks terrible so we are now on with decorating the kitchen, conservatory and utility room.  This is the before picture.  Hopefully there’ll be an after picture in next weeks sunday sevens. #sundaysevens 3 (2)

Hope you’ve had a lovely week and enjoying the long holiday weekend! If you’ve not heard of Sunday Sevens its a collection of photos showing what you’ve been up to in the last week, and was thought up by Natalie over at Threads & Bobbins!  I was a late starter, but loving taking part!

I sew and play golf. I blog about my sewing as I don't think you'd want to read about my golf. It's bad enough watching it on telly! Contact me via email - Thimbers.blog@gmail.com

  1. Happy Easter to you! Some great pictures this week–I especially love the Marsden one and the one of you and your hubby. Best of luck with the redecorating and have a great week!

    • Happy Easter to you too! The Marsden one is beautiful, it’s only 20 minutes from the town but seems so far away from ‘everything’. Decorating nearly done! Just need to put the house back together!

  2. Lovely photos 🙂 the view on the first photo is really nice. But ooooh that liberty fabric!! Happy Easter to you too and well done doing 5 weeks so far! I’m away so can’t do mine – maybe I will post it late tomorrow evening!

    • Hope you’ve had a fab Easter weekend away! I think that liberty will be hard to cut into! Initially i was thinking a shirt, but now I just don’t know. Or even some posh pj’s!

  3. Fiona M says

Love the Liberty fabric, does it have bicycles or clocks on it, or is it just my eyes?

    • It does Fiona, it has bikes, boats, buses and london cabs – it’s based around the transport theme in London.

  4. Oh my…your Liberty fabric is gorgeous! What will you be making with it?…or is it a surprise? I can’t believe how quick and motivated you are with your decorating! I’m super impressed…it takes us months to decorate one room! I’m looking forward to seeing which sofa you pick too 🙂

    • It’s taken years to get my hubby motivated for us to do it together. (I stopped been superwomen years ago, but would then have tackled it on my own!). So it’s not before time!
I bought the liberty with an inclination towards the Grainline Archer, but now i’m not sure! I want to make it into something I’m going to get a lot of wear out of, a lot of my dresses I only wear 2 or 3 times, so I really don’t know! Maybe some post pj’s as I mentioned in an earlier comment, at least I’d wear them loads – I’d probably never get dressed!

      • Hahaha if you called it lounge wear then it would be perfectly acceptable not to get dressed! That’s exactly what we are like with decorating….we talk about it for ages… start and then finish it 3 months after! 😀

  5. LOVE the Liberty fabric – what a treat! Went to Liberty’s store in Regent Street on Monday and spent £100 on three pieces but don’t know what to make with them yet. Velvet sofas are the ultimate in cosiness aren’t they? Hope you get your new one soon:)

  6. I had to smile when I read your couch comment. We’re currently trying to find new couches and it’s an absolute pain! We’re totally unsure about which colour(s) we want and what kind of model. It will probably take another couple of months before we make a decision and then it will take another 2-3 months before delivery…. It will be the first time we buy one, the one we have now is a hand-me-down from my parents and it only seats two people.
