Hi Folks!
Gosh! What’s happening to me! This healthy active lifestyle is certainly getting in the way of me and my sewing machine. And my blogging. But behind the scenes I’m still snapping away at the picks and now I’m only ONE pound off my target weight I’m hoping to get back to sewing more, especially as I really need some new clothes.
So what’s been happening…..
The start of Me Made May meant I needed something me made for golf so found one of the hubby’s golf tops in the charity bag and did a quick refashion….here’s before…
Bluebells everywhere at the moment…… These were at the side of the 10th green.
I’ve been helping out with the ladies taster sessions at the golf club. If you’re not far away it’s not too late to have a go. All free and equipment is provided.
I decided totally out of the blue to go for a run. I’d not run for over a year so I was both surprised and pleased when I did 5K in 31 minutes and 2 seconds, beating my best park run time by 8 seconds! π
Meals times at work often resemble something from “ready steady cook!”
In less than 10 minutes I’d managed to rustle this up…..
And I’m having spinach with everything, and loving it in omelettes!
I feel like I’m shrinking in height as well as the waistline! H is now 6’3″ and bigger than his dad!
Looking very smart and serious going out to bat. He’s playing 3 or 4 matches a week, too many whites to wash!
One night last week I came across a road accident on my way home from work and stopped to help as it had just happened. It was where the donkeys are that I’ve shown on previous SSs (ages ago).
It turned out I knew the mum of the girl who I help. She’s ok and her mum sent me some lovely flowers.
Last Wednesday I woke up all giddy as I had slept for 8 1/2 hours (I’m lucky if I get 6 usually) so I went for a run and smashed my previous 5K time.
Soooo pleased!!
And then went to play golf, had chips with lunch before and tea afterwards and had this little dessert! I think I’d earn it!
Last Friday I organised a walk with some work pals in Happy Valley
Meet Alfie….
And Dougal…..
No pudding in the pub half weigh round, but I did eat all this….. I ordered the special burger but without the bap so I was sort of being good!
The last 3 miles of our walk were along the canal….
Errrmm, don’t know what to say about these, except that maybe these are proof that being bonkers has not skipped any generations in our crazy family!
Slimming…..in my first week I missed of my SS I lost 2 1/2 pounds and then this week another pound!! That’s 18lbs since February and only 1 pound to target!
Sunday Sevens – a short blog post with seven/a few/lots of (delete as appropriate) photos from your week, invented by Natalie from Threads and Bobbins.
Alfie is gorgeous! (And a lot like my dog.. so there’s a small chance I may be biased)
He really is a sweetie, I’d love a dog if I didn’t work such daft hours
Great weeks & well done on your run times. I haven’t run since December & dread to think what my times will be if I start again. I find it’s time that’s the problem too… to run, to work, to sew, to blog, to do housework…which one is the question! How do we fit in everything we want/need to do π±
Thankyou βΊοΈ it felt good to be back out there, I don’t think it’ll take over my gym time but I’m going to try once or twice s week to run. Go on…..dig out those trainers ππ»ββοΈπ
Well done you look amazing! That is a great 5k time! Gorgeous doggies as well!
Thankyou π I’m loving bring fitter, I’ve never been proper fit before as I’ve smoked all my adult life. π
Good pictures but did you do the refashion on your husband’s top? I can only see the before picture. Are you just teasing us? You’ve inspired me to get my trainers on and start running again – I haven’t been out since October. I’m entering a couple of 10Ks this year so I’d better get on with it. The fact you just ran 5k when you haven’t been out for a year makes me feel slightly optimistic!
Sorry Corrine, I’m teasing you. I’m going to get sorted and blog about it as I’ve not done much proper sewing. Good luck with the 10ks, I’m wondering if my little legs might fancy pushing themselves for longer distances this year ππ»ββοΈπ€
Congrats on the weight loss – you are clearly gaining strength and stamina with it.
the most surprising bit for me though is how much I’m enjoying it, though I’m not enjoying how much it eats into my sewing and blogging time π
Don’t you just look fabulous! Well done. Now I need a lie down after that running….
Haha, thanks Cathy, me too!! π
4 sets of whites a week . . . as in FOUR!!! Have a hunch a lot of your time is spent watching T(all) H getting his exercise. π Lovely photos of your ‘usual’ chock full o’fun days. Lovely bluebells & you can’t beat a good walk in the countryside! (Oh, to see a bit of foggy mist around here!) Hope t’internet nastiness doesn’t impact you too badly at work. And you’ve still got your tan – hurrah! xx
Our weather is so crazy Del, needing sun cream one minute and 20 layers the next. I had the heating on 2 days ago! I’d send you some drizzle and foggy mist if I could! π
Those would be grand as its now 90’s here!
Wow! You are looking good! Not that you didn’t look good before, there was just more of you. You’re definitely going to have to get back to that sewing machine soon. So many photos! My favourites are, of course, the dogs π
The dogs are my favourite too this week, they really were fab to have with us. If my life wasn’t so crazy I would love a dog, but it wouldn’t be fair as things are. We keep trying to talk cyber mum and dad into having one that we could borrow but they’re not having any of it! π
Shame about cyber mum and dad’s reluctance, but you’re right, they’re a huge commitment. Even dogs that don’t don’t make a career of poor health like mine does – not that I’d swap having him for the world, but he’s certainly been a big influence on the choices we’ve made.
Not run in a year and you still smashed your previous best? That’s seriously impressive and shows how losing weight and improved overall fitness works miracles. Not to mention giving up the weed which obviously is the best thing you could have done to get healthy. Makes me grin to see all those outdoorsy photos in anything from a vest to full-blown wet weather gear……
The weather’s nuts at the minute, but I bet it’ll be lovely from tomorrow when I’m back at work! I can’t believe how I feel like I’ve suddenly changed and gotten all fit, the last 1/2 a stone has made a bit difference. π
Great run times! Losing weight seems to have turbocharged you π.
I’m not doing much sewing at the moment either – the weather is too good to waste so the garden looks better π
