#SundaySevens 53

Hello! Hope you’ve all had a lovely week!  I have!  It’s writing my Sunday Sevens and reflecting on my week that make me realise how lucky I am having an extra 2 hours in the day to everyone else – I must do cos I don’t see how else I could fit everything in! Natalie from Threads and Bobbins thought up the Sunday Sevens over 18 months ago as a way of posting snippets of your week that maybe wouldn’t warrant a blog post all on their own.  You don’t have to sign your life away to join in – just jump in and out as you please – or go for the long haul like me.  It’s my Sunday Sevens Anniversary this weekend and I’ve not missed a week! 1   I started my week with good intentions of running 3 time.  Monday went well but then I started with the sorest throat you can imagine and it’s lingered all week.  Hopefully I’ll be able to get out more next week. 2   Took …

A little late but we won’t dwell on that!  After all, there’s no rules in Natalie’s Sunday Sevens!  Head over to Threads & Bobbins if you want to read more about it, and join in too! As usual I didn’t think I’d done much stuff this week.  I’d worked an extra 2 shifts (to pay towards my girlie golfing trip!) so there wasn’t much time left for fun and craftiness.  But I still couldn’t narrow it down to 7 photos! 1   One of the ladies from the golf club has given me a selection of hand crocheted doilies. How gorgeous are they.  There’s 9 altogether in different sizes. 2  We had sunshine on the golf course! 3   And pizza at Pizza hut!  I just love their stuffed crust.  We don’t go very often as I think it’s a bit over priced, but soooo nice. 4   I’ve cracked on with my UFO.  Just this neckline to finish, which will hopefully happen today. 5    Learning to embroider at the roadside thanks to Craftsy! …

Yup, I’m late again, but I’m only just catching up with Tuesday and really don’t know what day it is!  Those nights shifts again playing havoc with my world! Sunday  Sevens is the brain child of the lovely Natalie over at Threads and Bobbins.  I think there’s quite a few of us now going in, I wonder if he thought it would take off like it has when she first thought it up?? 1     A late entry from the week before. I was looking for a pic of me at my BIL wedding and this was the best I could find!  My dress was a bargain at House of Frazer – £10.50!  More than what a pattern would cost!  think my niece’s dress on the right might have costed a bit more! 2   Rory our cheeky cat – I didn’t know she drank out of glasses! 3  The first pop of colour in the garden. 4    A trip to Harrogate meant I could go to one of my favourite real life fabric …

Competition Results & #SundaySevens 50

Sunday Sevens is late as we were at a wedding yesterday, so I thought instead of writing 2 posts, which seemed I bit daft, I’d announce the winner of the competition with this week’s Sunday Sevens. If there’s anyone who’s not heard of Sunday Sevens – it’s 7 ish photos of your week showing a bit more about what goes when you’re not sewing. Generally for me I’m either eating or working!  Invented by the lovely Natalie from Threads & Bobbins if you want to read more. Without further ado…………. The total mileage travelled by all the ladies from their Home to Fabworks Dewsbury was 671 miles!   The evening of the meet up I totted up the mileage and sent my mum a text of how far all the ladies had travelled.  I was quite amazed at the final total, and so was mum!  And even more amazed that some of you got quite close the the figure. The winner of the £25 voucher plus free P&P donated by Fabworks is Sam who guessed 666 miles.  Sam …

And sleep…….! What a week it’s been!  Last night I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages.   I don’t know about you, but whenever I’ve something on my mind, or when I’m planning something, my mind plays tricks on me and I have the weirdest of dreams.  When I was at training school (almost 20 years ago) studying to be a paramedic they fed us well.  I dreamt I got so fat my (small) tattoo grew so big is spread and covered the whole of my body!! So you can imagine what I’ve been like this week with the Spoolettes meet up going round my head!  I wouldn’t mind if I was a worrier.  I’m not when I’m awake.  But it’s crazy what our subconscious minds gets up to behind our backs! Anyway, apart from having an amazing Saturday!  The best ever!! I did have a few other moments this week worthy of a photograph, so here we are, my Sunday Sevens as thought up by the lovely Natalie over at Threads and Bobbins….. …

After a crazy busy week it’s nice to finally sit down and write my Sunday Sevens.  Unfortunately due to night shifts and storm Gertrude I’ve only been able to go out for a run once this week, hopefully next week will prove a little more active.  I’m also behind reading all your blogs but I’m back to work tomorrow so hopefully I’ll be able to catch up between calls. One of the highlights of my week was a phone call all the way from North Carolina – Del from CurlsnSkirls.  We had a lovely chat, and it was surprising how easy it was to chat with someone who I only know ‘online’. Here’s the other highlights which I was able to photograph…. 1    H needed new trainers, this growing lark is just getting out of hand!   2     Monday was my mums birthday.  For lunch we went to NANdos (where else do you take a super mum & super nan!) and in the evening we went to our favourite Indian and all …

Three 6am starts on the trot, finishing on Sunday evening can only mean one thing.  Early to bed and Sunday Sevens will be done on Monday! Sunday Sevens is a weekly blog post of your week in 7 photos, thought up by the lovely Natalie over at Threads and Bobbins. There’s no hard and fast rules and if you want to join in you can. No need for an invite, just jump right in! I love reading about the lives of my blogging buddies in other parts of the globe, and judging by the comments I receive, I’m thinking they must enjoying seeing mine too! This first pic is nothing to do with Sunday Sevens.  It’s the amazing hand-made Christmas card from Sewchet that was in my StitchingSanta parcel.  Somehow I forgot to post it.  Isn’t it fab!!  (I play golf in case you’re wondering!!) 1    This is the view from H’s bedroom.  It was a gorgeous morning and when I saw the blue skies it was an easy choice to put my trainers …

Hello from a chilly Yorkshire. We finally have snow. Not much, only an inch or 2, but enough to cause havoc and make getting to patients a bit of a challenge. I had a hair raising moment last night coming down some snow covered cobbles but did made it down one piece.  The car I drive is 4 wheel drive, but it was the ABS that saved me! I think my heart was racing more than the patient’s when I finally got to her! Here’s my Sunday Sevens round up for the last week. It involves mainly cakes! But I have run 24 km this week and managed a new PB at the park run yesterday. This is a screen shot not a photo but I’m excited and proud to share it with you! The cakes must have helped!     1. On Monday I sent off a fabric parcel to Kathryn in Iowa as part of Pretty Grievences  Jungle January. I bought this on holiday in Truro ages ago and have just been waiting for …

Are we all back to some kind of normality this week after the Christmas Hols?   1    We’ve taken down own trimmings and packed away Fairy Florence for 11 months.  Isn’t she gorgeous? I never got chance to introduce you over the hols.  A very talented friend of mine has a Fairy Factory and makes them.  Not just for Christmas, for all sorts of occasions!  She has a shop on Etsy if you want to have a peak.  If you’re like me and love Peter Pan you’ll still believe. 2   I was parked up at work for a roadside stand by catching up on my blog reader  I looked top and saw blue sky.  The first I’ve seen in I don’t know how long!  I’ve not doctored this pic at all, the sky looks just like this! 3  Starving wasn’t the word.  After a 13 hour shift I NEEDED fish and chips!!  (it’s funny how sunday sevens gets you good at taking sneaky photos, or should that be improve your ability? but then that wouldn’t …

Sunday Seven(teens!) from Settle

Happy New Year Everyone and welcome to my first Sunday Seven’s of 2016!     I’ve been away since the 29th in Settle in the Yorkshire Dales so feeling very chilled out and relaxed.  There’s no way I can narrow it down to just 7 photos and that’s without including the photos of the shops I want to tell you about. That’ll just have to wait for now, but here’s a teaser!     All packed up for our road trip! I’ve  gone up in the world and no longer need an IKEA bag to pack my clothes thanks to Sewchet! (she’s written a tutorial if you would like one too!). There was some BIG puddles on the way: And some wet flooded fields that looked more like lakes: In less than an hour from leaving home we were in Settle! The house we had rented overlooked the river.  Luckily it rarely floods.  Ours is in the middle behind the tree so you can’t see it very well! The view from our bedroom window. I’d taken some …
