Sunday Sevens 9th May

I’ve been on annual leave this week so caught up on with a few jobs outside, and played golf. Now lockdown restrictions are relaxed I’m not sure if I’m feeling like the old me any more. A lot of us talk about loosing our sewjo, but I’m feeling I’ve lost motivation for everything – not just sewing. It’s such a bit effort to do anything and often I get to the end of the day and feel like I’ve wasted it going round in a bloody daze. I do keep my self busy, as you can see from my Sunday Sevens, but I think this last 12+ months is taking its’ toll on me, like many of us out there. I think that this must be my first Sunday Seven post when I’ve not shown you a plate of food or cake! I did mention last week that I was going to put my S.S.’s on hold until after Me Made May. I’ve changed my mind! Cheerio for now. Stay safe, and keep smiling, Ali …

Sunday Sevens 2nd May

Brrrrr…. I’m feeling cold writing this. The April showers that came last week are continuing into May have made the lovely weather that we had in early April seem a distant memory! I did mention in my last Sunday Sevens that I’d be putting them on hold until after Me Made May has finished, but I won’t be posting MMMAY until next weekend so here I am! Cheerio for now. Stay safe, and keep smiling, Ali x Not sure what Sunday Sevens is about? It was a fab idea thought up a long time ago by the lovely Natalie of Threads & Bobbins – a fellow Yorkshire lass who lives in America. There’s no rules but the idea is to share 7 isn photos from your week. Read more about it on Natalie’s blog post – it actually took some finding – Sunday Sevens started way back in 2014!! Sunday Sevens 25th April ish

WARNING! Don’t read this if you’re hungry. There’s quite a few foodie pics this week. They’re not very exciting, well the cake it, it was bloody lovely! Another week of glorious sunshine. I only worked 3 shifts this week, and luckily I wasn’t starting until 4:30pm so was able to make the most of the lovely weather. Talking of work, I’m happy to report I have had NO patients with any COVID symptoms this last week. I think that’s a first in a very long time. So this post is a few days late and it’s now almost time to post this current weeks’ Sunday Seven pix. I’m thinking I might put SS’s on hold for May as I’m taking park in Me Made May 2021 and am hoping to post weekly updates. I’m being a bit realistic that I might be biting off more than I can chew committing to 2 blog posts a week! But you never know I might! Cheerio for now. Stay safe, and keep smiling, Ali x Not sure what …

Sunday Sevens 18th April ish

What a gorgeous week! The weather has been kind to us here in the UK and I’ve been making the most of it, in between working. I’ve been on nights Friday through until Sunday and was really dreading work due to the pubs being open for outdoor hospitality. Luckily, I got less than my fair share of alcohol related incidents over the weekend, so it wasn’t too bad. That’s another week that’s flown by! Not sure about adding videos to my Sunday Sevens…. what do you think? Hope you can understand Bob’s accent – he’s even more Yorkshire than me! Cheerio for now, see you next week. Stay safe, and keep smiling, Ali x Not sure what Sunday Sevens is about? Sunday Sevens 11th April ’21

3 weeks in a row! Crikey! Even I’m shocked! When I stopped blogging so much (almost 4 years ago) it coincided with me & Craig splitting up, and I just felt like I needed to keep my life more private and I lost my blo-jo. That’s liking loosing your sew-jo, but to do with blogging. But I’m happier now and as I really used to love writing my Sunday Sevens, and also looking back on them it wasn’t a hard decision to start sharing them with you again. So don’t be surprised if this is a regular post from me on a Sunday (isn). And as in the ‘olden’ days of my Sunday Sevens, there’s likely to be more than 7! One of these days I might narrow my Sunday Sevens down to 7 pix🙄. Next week H’s cricket season starts. I can’t wait to watch him in action again! I’m on nights next weekend but am hoping to catch a couple of hours when I get up. And hopefully I might get a pic …

Easter Week Sunday Sevens

I’ve just enjoyed a week’s annual leave – how lucky was I that it coincided with some lockdown restrictions being lifted – including opening up the golf courses, and also some glorious weather! A new frock was needed to mark the course being open at long last and I made this to wear on Tuesday in my first competition of 2021. This is the Mary Quant Dress designed by Alice & Co Patterns and is available as a FREE download on the V&A website. As well as golf this week we have done some garden hopping now we’re allowed to venture out a little bit more. Unfortunately, I never thought to take any photos – I was too excited and too busy being sociable to think about taking any, but hopefully I’ll be back in to the swing of things for my Sunday Sevens next week and it won’t be all mainly about golf! Have a great week whatever you’re doing. Stay safe and keep smiling! Ali x

Sunday Sevens 2021 – Bumper Edition!

Do I mention I’ve missed a few ? No….. life just goes at such a crazy speed sometimes, there’s no need to make up excuses. I’m not promising this will be a weekly post, but I’m hoping it will be more than quarterly. I’ve had a scroll down my photos and picked out a few since the start of the year. A few? Well about 50. So I won’t waffle on with lots of writing otherwise we’ll both be here all day! Not sure what Sunday Sevens is about? It was a fab idea thought up a long time ago by the lovely Natalie of Threads & Bobbins – a fellow Yorkshire lass who lives in America. There’s no rules but the idea is to share 7 isn photos from your week. Read more about it on Natalie’s blog post – it actually took some finding – Sunday Sevens started way back in 2014!! Sunday Sevens #ISEWLATED wk 3

Last week I had a couple of tough days at work. Tuesday was particularly tough and I didn’t think I could get through the rest of the week without having a total melt down. The C word is getting to us all. But I picked myself up with the support of my amazing work family, and lots of love and virtual hugs from my insta friends. Thankyou so much🥰 Monday started ok. No I didn’t buy these, I just modelled them! We bought cookies instead. No photos, they weren’t around long enough to take one! Early morning pic on my way to work. There has to be some benefits to working the early shift. Spring is definitely in the air with daffodils in full bloom everywhere. Keeping ourselves safe…. (we wear gloves too) There’s lots of support for the NHS to be seen around the village when I’m out and about having my daily exercise…. I added a few finishing touches to a denim jacket I made… The neighbours at work have been baking for …

Sunday Sevens #ISEWLATED wk 2

Is it just me who is going around in circles and struggling to have focus and be productive. I don’t think so, but I’m going to try and have a bit more structure in my days off this week. EDIT: I’ve been trying to do this for over a week and not gotten it finished and now it’s time for week 3 of isewlation. So I’ve decided to post week 2 now and post week 3 tomorrow, which will be a little bit more exciting! (Tomorrow’s post being exciting not you getting my posts 2 days running!) Started the week with a group night in-in. I got sooooo tipsy that going to bed is a very vague memory! I can highly recommend it if you’ve not tried it though. We got hit again! A wave and a clap is so appreciated when we’re out and about but chocolate really hits the spot! I really need to get my stash organised so I’ve been spending some time measuring it, photographing it and updating my Cora app. …

Sunday Sevens #ISEWLATED wk 1

Well it doesn’t really matter that I’m late with my Sunday Sevens as no one really knows what day it is as the moment! I thought I’d change the title and add #isewlated too as there will definitely be a different feel to my Sunday Sevens for the foreseeable future. Everyone is struggling as they adapt to a new way of life. Hopefully it won’t be for too long, although I image it will be the back end of summer before we can have some sort of normality back into our lives. And have real life sewing meet ups! I really miss you guys, but aren’t we lucky having our social media to keep in touch! And sewing to keep us sane! At work it’s business as usual. I say usual, but definitely not normal. It’s actually a relief to go to work and have some social interaction, and the public continue to be amazing with the support and encouragement we are receiving, which is a real morale booster. This photo was taken Sunday Evening …
