Sunday Sevens #ISEWLATED wk 1

Well it doesn’t really matter that I’m late with my Sunday Sevens as no one really knows what day it is as the moment! I thought I’d change the title and add #isewlated too as there will definitely be a different feel to my Sunday Sevens for the foreseeable future. Everyone is struggling as they adapt to a new way of life. Hopefully it won’t be for too long, although I image it will be the back end of summer before we can have some sort of normality back into our lives. And have real life sewing meet ups! I really miss you guys, but aren’t we lucky having our social media to keep in touch! And sewing to keep us sane! At work it’s business as usual. I say usual, but definitely not normal. It’s actually a relief to go to work and have some social interaction, and the public continue to be amazing with the support and encouragement we are receiving, which is a real morale booster. This photo was taken Sunday Evening …

Sunday Sevens 2020-3

What a week! Scary times ahead with ‘you know what’, but I did manage to pack quite a lot in to this week, but socially I think that will be it for quite a whilst we exercise social distancing. The week started with a little sewcial gathering at Hicklteton Golf club and a little shopping spree in Waltons when the Yorkshire Spoolettes went on tour. Monday was also Childrens Day – something we’ve celebrated in our family since I was 11. Not quite a child any more but H still gets a pressie and I get one from cyber mom and pops. I got lilies, they are beginning to open up – I wish you could smell them! On the way back from the meet up I called off at Castleford Outlet and bought a pair of new boots…. Tuesday I managed a game of golf, only the 2nd time this year. Yorkshire Karen spotted me from the Greenway and sent me this picture, though I never saw her. Wednesday I popped down to Lucky …

Sunday Sevens 2020-2

As well as few pics from this week, I thought I’d add a few extra ones too. I’ll explain as I go along! You might know that about a year ago after working on the rapid response car for 10 years I went back to working on the ambulances. As a result I have adopted a little sister – Bex. I work over half my shifts with her. She’s so lovely and the 10 hour shifts with her just fly by. As well as a work little sister I’ve adopted a work son too. Aaron. He’s a newly qualified paramedic and is from the other side of the pennines so has no family over her, so I mother him a bit, and he comes for tea and we have the occasional gin night. And not forgetting my proper family. Cyber mum and pops are doing well, and little H is now 6’5″ūüôÄ Bit of a do at mine…… I need glasses – a little bit for reading and definitely for sewing. These aren’t what I’ve …

Sunday Sevens 2020-1

Looking back I never knew how I used to find photos from my week that warranted writing about. I’ve just had a look through the photos I’ve taken over the last week and bit the bullet and am going to try and get back into my Sunday Sevens. I started the week with meeting my sewing wify Lisa. We called at Yorkshire Born and Thread. They were having a pop up sale, I bought this gorgeous flocked chiffon type fabric, There’s just over 2 metres and I’m thinking Pussy Bow blouse with fancy sleeves. It has an amazing drape and soft feel to it. There’s a lovely country pub, The Hare and Hounds, only 2 minutes drive away so we popped in for a spot of lunch. It’d have been rude not to! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Tuesday is normally my golf day when I’m not working, but yet again the foul weather closed the course. Before meeting the ladies for lunch (we still usually go down for a catch …

#SundaySevens 2018 #1

Hello Lovelies! I’m wondering should I mention my absence and apologise for it? ¬†Or do I just crack on and bombard you with lots of photos of some of my goings on over the last few weeks? ¬†Yea, I think I’ll just do that. I picked up a leather skirt from a charity shop, it was either ¬£5 or ¬£10. ¬†It needed shortening and taking in at the hips – I forgot I had done this, I must dig it out of the wardrobe! My birthday lunch back in October! Cyber mum….not looking to impressed but looking very slim! Girlie night out – the same place I went for my birthday but it’s totally different on a Friday night, when there is usually a band on. The food is always great – here’s the link if you live over this way and fancy going – Jeremy’s at The Boathouse More eating out! ¬†Not wonder I’ve put on 1/2 stone (or more!) since I reached my target back in May last year! ¬†This time for my …

#SundaySevens 102

It is Sunday but there’s not 7! ¬†How could there be when it’s almost 3 months since I last wrote a Sunday Sevens post. ¬†So I’ll just get on and try it keep the writing short and snappy. ¬†Make sure you’ve eaten – there are a few food posts and they’re not all Slimming World! Baby Moorhens on the golf golf. ¬†They weren’t very willing subjects when I tried to photograph then, they couldn’t half shift! Stunning sunset one Summers evening at work. Gorgeous meal after a team match at golf. ¬†So healthy, not the usual pie and chips which we often get. Followed by a not so healthy dessert ūüėĽ An evening with H watching Yorkshire Cricket in a 20-20 game. Rory being very cute and not minding having her photo taken. Stormtroopers at our local shopping centre, whatever next! A very English Band Stand at Ripon racecourse. Cold baked sweet potatoes, I just love ’em with everything! English Summers at their best I’m not a fair weather golfer so battled on in the …

#SundaySevens 101

It’s a good job Natalie’s Sunday Sevens are free and easy with no hard and fast rules, cos I’d have broken them all by now. I’m thinking for now I’ll post my Sunday Sevens fortnightly rather than weekly, so here’s my last 2 weeks…..   As usual I usually have something with me to do at work. ¬†My main distraction is still this blanket which I also take to cricket. ¬†I usually have a with me too pattern too on the off chance I get to cut it out. This is the canal basin in Elland. ¬†This area was devastated by the Boxing Day Floods in 2015 but now looks amazing, I even have my own car park for when I’m stood by. ¬†Well, it feels like my own as there’s only ever me there! Tea out….. Toffee fudge eclair. ¬†I started at one end and the Hubby at the other. ¬†We finished it!! ¬†I’ve put his phone there so you can see just how big it is! The Tailors in Fartown has a new …

#SundaySevens 99

Hi Folks! Here¬†we are with another Sunday Sevens Double Bill, and looking back over the last 2 weeks and beyond it’s no wonder I’m not making any new garments! ¬†I still love taking the pics and sharing them with you, and also looking back over my old posts too. ¬†It’s so easy to forget all the good stuff that happens in life so it’s a good way of keep a little photo diary of the little things, and the big things too. The week didn’t start off 2 good. ¬†I fell on the steps in the gym, landing on my side. I¬†managed to keep hold of my purse, water bottle and phone, but hit every step until I landed at the bottom. ¬†the rest of the day (after I went to my intended class!) was spent in my PJs feeling very sore and sorry for myself. Sue and I ready in our team strips to play in the A team. We played at Bradley Hall Golf Club. ¬†The weather was so miserable but the scenery …

#SundaySevens 91 Featuring The Bronte Country

This week has all been about #sewdownsbury. ¬†But I have managed a couple of other things. ¬†Mainly work and healthy eating. I had to drag myself away from my sewing machine for my 10am start on Monday. ¬†Working shifts I don’t normally get Monday morning blues on a Monday but I did last week. ¬†I wanted to stay home and finish my moneta! ¬†Instead I put on a big smile and headed off! I stopped at Tesco on my way home and picked some whoopsed flowers….60p!! They’ve perked up quite nicely since I took this photo over a week ago and are still going strong. 2 night shifts followed my 2 late shifts. ¬†At 4 am as I was pulling out of the drive of a nursing home when I had my first sighting of daffies this year. I was running out of time for getting things done so I had to take my name badge to embroider on Thursday night. ¬†Luckily I got it finished. My diet has been so healthy and I’ve been …

#SundaySevens 72

As usual it’s not Sunday and there’s not Seven photos!   A gorgeous Sunrise started the week. ¬†At least with the darker mornings it’s not just the early birds that can enjoy these amazing skies. H made tea for the first time. ¬†He’s made omelettes and easy things but this was his first time co-ordinating and cooking a proper meal. ¬†As you can see I emptied my plate, he did a great job and was overly enthusiastic about doing it again. A trip into Brighouse for H to get his hair cut. We played our end of season competition. Everyone brings a prize for about ¬£5. ¬†The winner gets first pick, then 2nd, 3rd etc. ¬†You guessed, I kept up my almost winning streak with 2nd place! Inspired by The Material Lady who’s just run a half marathon I got off my butt and went for my first ‘run’ since April, and managed 5k in just under 39 minutes. ¬†Even though I’m trying to get fit at the gym i was surprised how much slower …
