Sunday Sevens Weeks 48 (me 23)

Last week Monday was the new Sunday as there were a few of us who were late with their Sunday Sevens.  Yesterday I was too busy having fun at the seaside and was late back so here we are again, but as the old saying goes, better late than never!  I’ve not had chance to catch up on my reader from over the weekend yet. Here we go, my round up in seven-ish photos (I’ve had to fasten 3 together to count as one!) of my week, as invented by Natalie over at Threads and Bobbins: 1.   Our hebe bush in the garden is a mass of flowers at the minute, and bees! 2.   H Facetimed me whilst I was at work – I took a photo of the iPad screen.  Crazy boy!  Don’t know where he gets it from! 3.  Yorkshire v Lancashire away at Northern Cricket Club near Liverpool.  A long trek but we won so all smiles.  The little boy’s brother plays with H and he is only 6, and he loves …

Sunday Sevens week 47 (me 22)

Sunday Sevens – invented by Natalie over at Threads & Bobbins.  Letting you know what else we get up to outside our usual blog life! After a hectic week in Taunton in Somerset I’m now back to share my week in seven photos with you.  I’ve taken about 1,500 photos this week, so it’s been a bit tough to narrow in down!  H plays cricket for Yorkshire and they were taking part in a cricket festival, playing teams from Ireland, Cheshire, Kent, Cornwall and Dubai!  We came a respectable 2nd, which was fantastic considering we’re Yorkshire B team and we were playing all other A teams. Chief photographer….. not entirely sure how this started but I tend to take all the photos, and upload them onto a Facebook Group I’ve created. (like I don’t have enough to do, lol!)  Think I need to work on my posture! At the entrance to our caravan site there’s these gorgeous sweet peas…. Went out for a curry to an Authentic Indian Restaurant. I had a seafood platter as …

Sunday Seven week 46 (me 21)

Happy Monday! A belated Sunday Sevens…. sorry! I’m doing this on my iPhone as I’ve forgot to bring my iPad so it will be light on text as it’s not easy to write a blog post on a phone!  1. Meet my apprentice photographer, I didn’t see my camera until the match was over once Sophie got hold of it!  2. Played golf and wore my Osaka skirt i made a few weeks ago. It’s the first time I’ve had chance to wear this in ‘real’ life.  3. We watched H’s buddy play in a final.  4. H had a new haircut for his cricket tour. This is the shortest he’s ever had his hair. He said he thinks he’s now grown into his ears so can have it short! 5. Lunch out with mum and sister  6.  The view from my kitchen window in the caravan – my home for the week.    7. Extra guest this morning waiting for his breakfast.     Normal service will resume after my little holiday with links to …

Sunday Sevens Week 45 (me 20)

Hi! Happy Sunday!  Here’s my roundup for this week’s Sunday Sevens from the last week.  Not a lot of creativity going on the Thimberlina household, but busy nonetheless!  I’ve had a real struggle to narrow it down to 7 photos, and that’s without cyber mom and pop’s kitchen – unfortunately there has been no progress this week – it’s going to be delivered any day, so hopefully there’ll be something to show you next week.  Some of the pics are taken on the same day, as on the days I was working they were very uneventful so nothing to show. 1. I attended a dinner for Lady Captain’s day at the golf club.  The lady on each table who had a raffle ticket stuck under her side plate could take a table centre piece home, and on our table it was me! 2.  I’ve been a bit of a social butterfly this week and everywhere I’ve gone I’ve seen jumpsuits!! These are 2 of many….. 3.   At cricket in Settle there was a man watching …

Sunday Sevens Week 44 (me 19)

Happy Sunday Everyone!   Today is such a treat!  It’s my first full weekend off in 4 weeks!  H is at Nanny & Grandpa’s, hubby’s still knocking out the zzzzz’s after we had a late night at a wedding do (oops, wrote weeding do first!! no it wasn’t a garden party!), and now i’m just going to quickly do my Sunday Sevens before I knock together another Dimpsy T.  And we have absolutely NOTHING planned for today!!  Well, maybe just watch the first team play the semi finals of a cup match, see mum in law and do all the washing……so not much really! Here’s my week in 7 photos.  I must say that at first (19 weeks ago!!) I found it hard to gather together 7 photos.  Now I always have too many and I love looking back at my pix of the last week. 1.  Driving through Halifax we saw a couple in an old Morris 1000 who’d just got married!  I couldn’t get a photo from the front, but they did look lovely! …

If Carlsberg did Sunday Sevens……

If Carlsberg did Sunday Sevens they wouldn’t be like mine, they would be like the week Sewchet’s just had!! Anyway back to my week (but click on Sheila’s link if you want to see how a week in England is really spent when the sun is shining!). 1. H had a match for Yorkshire and scored 44 – his highest number of runs for them this season.  He was shattered on the way home and fell asleep. 2.  Nights! Yuck!  Even after 23 years they don’t get any easier. It was about 4:45 am and I was heading into Huddersfield, returning back to area.  I saw the most amazing sunrise.  I pulled over and took a photo.  As I looked in my wing mirror, before setting off, a car over took me.  Then 2 cars racing each other about 60mph in a 30mph zone came flying past!  After they passed I set off and about 200yds down the road was confronted by a smashed up VW Golf – one of the cars that had just …

Sunday Sevens Week 42 (me 17)

Hi Everyone! We’ve finally had a weekend of warmer weather and I’m working. But never mind, I’m off tomorrow and hopefully it’ll be a scorcher! Friday was my first shift back after being off at the start of the week. I woke up at 5am when my alarm went off and the first thing I thought was “oh shit no! I forgot to do my Sunday Sevens last night!!😳”.   After all it was Monday morning for me. It wasn’t until I was dressed that I realised i’d still another 3 days left of the week!! So now it’s your Sunday and I’ve got the Friday feeling! Confused??!!  Me too! Read on! 1. I don’t think this needs an explaining but it’s the highlight of my week, already has had it’s own post but still needs another mention!! My GBSB day with Heather Jacks! 2. We have a beautiful pond on the 11th hole at the golf club.  It’s wasn’t as beautiful this week as my ball went in it! Noticed this poppy though which I’d not seen …

Sunday Sevens Weeks 41 (me 16)

Hi Everyone!  Here we are again at Natalie’s Sunday Sevens!  Gosh, how the weeks fly.  My weeks consisted of watching 2 crickets matches, playing 1 round of golf and working 4 12 hour shifts!  Hence not much time for sewing, though I have started on the Capri Pants from the latest GBSB book.  They’re all sewn up, just need to tweak the fit and add a zip and the facings on the waist. Enough rambling on, here’s 7 photos from in and amongst my busy week: 1.  We have a farm less than a 5 minute walk away that sells eggs.  There’s an honesty box and it’s open 24/7. 2. Blonds have more fun!  Not sure if yellow counts! 3.  Intermittent drizzle and a bit breezy watching cricket, so after i had walked 18 laps (each lap is 1/4 mile) I settled down with a my crochet under the brolly. 4.  Another cricket match.  Couldn’t keep up with Clare (in the blue frock), Sarah stood on the step was poised to join us for more …

Sunday Sevens Weeks 40 (me 15)

Apologies for a slightly late Sunday Sevens.  After such a hectic, sewingless but productive week I ran out of time and couldn’t post until today! So for those new to my blog, or to Sunday Sevens, it’s all down to a brain wave from Natalie of Threads and Bobbins. Head over to her blog to find out more! 1. My mum called into the market whilst in Leeds and came home with 1 1/2 metres of this fabric for me.  It’s a crepe see through fabric. She likes to come home with random unusual pieces for Thimberlina to work her magic with! Any suggestions?? 2. Back to Bradfield for another cricket match.  After the first innings the wicket is prepared for the other team to bat. 3. H’s turned 13!  Gosh can’t believe it!  The cake was a joint effort.  My mum baked it, my dad iced it, and I added the grass and the wicket! 4. Out for Tea to a local Indian Restaurant (I wore my jumpsuit!!).  H and little Charlie decided to …

Sunday Sevens Weeks 39 (me 14)

Hello!  Hope you’ve all had a wonderful week.  Mine’s been a bit mixed – a bit like the weather.  I’d been stung in the face by hail stones and 3 days later been sun burnt! A little mention about Sunday Sevens….  Natalie from Threads and Bobbins thought this for us to write a post to include 7 photos from your week.  It’s great to get an insite into what we all get up to outside of the sewing room.  I particularly like to see photos of where my blogging friends live – not their houses – just what the landscapes are like round and about.  It makes it a bit more real as I often feel it’s a bit weird having ‘virtual friends’! 1.  The week can only get better from here.  It had been a bright blustery day, but at 5.08 pm as I teed off the heavens opened and it blew a gail!  I was so fed up, but had to battle on for the team! Needless to say I won!  But it did …
