#Sunday Sevens 57

Hi!  A belated happy Sunday Sevens!   Fancy having this in your back garden!  A 253ft chimney, known as Wainhouse Tower. Those of you who watched Happy Valley will have seen it or maybe not noticed it.  Despite it’s prominence it’s quite hard to get a decent photo of the tower – I’ve been trying for ages – but last week I went to a job nearby just as it was getting dark. It’s open to the public on bank holidays and other selected dates and those who dare climb the 403 steps will be rewarded with an amazing view over Happy Valley!   Quite a bit of rain last week.  H and I went out for a run/jog but it was a definite run past this puddle before any cars came and splashed us!   I won the first prize in the Easter raffle at the golf club.  A much better prize than the wine I didn’t win last week!  Or was it the week before!? Shopping for a new suitcase – H …

#SundaySevens 46

Hello from a chilly Yorkshire. We finally have snow. Not much, only an inch or 2, but enough to cause havoc and make getting to patients a bit of a challenge. I had a hair raising moment last night coming down some snow covered cobbles but did made it down one piece.  The car I drive is 4 wheel drive, but it was the ABS that saved me! I think my heart was racing more than the patient’s when I finally got to her! Here’s my Sunday Sevens round up for the last week. It involves mainly cakes! But I have run 24 km this week and managed a new PB at the park run yesterday. This is a screen shot not a photo but I’m excited and proud to share it with you! The cakes must have helped!     1. On Monday I sent off a fabric parcel to Kathryn in Iowa as part of Pretty Grievences  Jungle January. I bought this on holiday in Truro ages ago and have just been waiting for …

Sunday Seven(teens!) from Settle

Happy New Year Everyone and welcome to my first Sunday Seven’s of 2016!     I’ve been away since the 29th in Settle in the Yorkshire Dales so feeling very chilled out and relaxed.  There’s no way I can narrow it down to just 7 photos and that’s without including the photos of the shops I want to tell you about. That’ll just have to wait for now, but here’s a teaser!     All packed up for our road trip! I’ve  gone up in the world and no longer need an IKEA bag to pack my clothes thanks to Sewchet! (she’s written a tutorial if you would like one too!). There was some BIG puddles on the way: And some wet flooded fields that looked more like lakes: In less than an hour from leaving home we were in Settle! The house we had rented overlooked the river.  Luckily it rarely floods.  Ours is in the middle behind the tree so you can’t see it very well! The view from our bedroom window. I’d taken some …

#SundaySevens week 66 (me 41)

Aren’t the donkeys cute!?  These two live just down the road and we passed them walking down to pick the car up, having left it at a party last night.  It’s a shame the local schools can’t borrow them for their nativity plays! Before I start my Sunday Sevens I’m sneaking in a picture that’s not mine, but something one of my friends put on Facebook.  Thought you might like a giggle, it certainly put a smile on my face!   Now onto my week in 7 ish photos, The Sunday Sevens, as thought up by Natalie over at Threads & Bobbins 1  A lovely lady at the golf club saves her Prima mags, complete with the free patterns, for me.  Here is my 2013 collection, there’s a great shirt pattern which I might try and merge with the Archer. 2   Finished my Christmas bunting.  I just wish I’d have spaced it out a bit more as it was a metre and half short to go all the way around the conservatory. 3  I …

#SundaySevens week 65 (me 40)

In case you think I’m 5 days early for Sunday Sevens, I’m not. I’m a couple of days late. Oops! No worries, I’m sure the lovely Natalie from Threads and Bobbins who invented Sunday Sevens will forgive me, hope you will too!!     1 Hubby is reasonably well trained in most domestic tasks and does his own ironing. He dropped the iron on the lounge carpet, scorching the carpet and breaking the iron. So he went off to buy a new one. I’m quite pleased with his choice – lots of steam and quite weighty so should be just right my pressing needs! 2 My Yorkshire take on the Omelette Arnold Bennet. Replaced the smoked haddock with chicken and sweetcorn, topped with diced potatoes roasted in olive oil and garlic and a sprinkling of red leicester cheese. Served with baked beans. Lovely, yummy comfort food 🙂 3 Cut out the triangles for my Christmas bunting. I won the fabric in Natalie’s giveaway to celebrate 1 year of Sunday Sevens. 4 Apologies if you’re …

#SundaySevens week 63 (me 38)

Helloooo! It’s still still Sunday and I’m posting my Sunday Sevens on time,  SO that can only mean one thing…. I’ve got the weekend off! Yippeee!! In the unlikely event that I’ve lost you already and you no idea what I’m on about, head over to Natalie’s blog and read more about Sunday Sevens. You can join in too if you wish! Thinking back over the last week I don’t feel like I’ve done very much, but then I look at my pics and realise I have really. That’s the great thing about Sunday Sevens. It’s the photographic diary that I’d never keep up to if it was just for me. But sharing it with you guys makes it all worthwhile, especially when I read your comments. So hear we are….. Apologies for the accompanying text…. Tried to fix it from my iPad in bed and struggling. I’m up early so will look into it tomorrow… Sorry and night night 🙄 1.   This may well be my new place to stand by in Elland when I’m working. …

#SundaySevens Week 60 (me 35)

Hey! Don’t you just love Sundays and catching up what all the other Sunday Seveners have been up to?! It’s not nosy (Teresa!), it’s just good to see what else goes on when we’ve not got a hook or a needle in our hands. If you’d like to read more about the Sunday Sevens and fancy joining in head over to Natalie’s blog at Threads and Bobbins and start sharing 7 photos of randomness amongst your fellow bloggers. 1  My new washing machine arrived! It’s been not stop all week trying to catch up! 2  A very common position that H has been in this week in the school hols – xbox with Rory sat on his knee! 3  Miserable day but still went out for a short run.  Managed to slip on some leaves and went flying.  A photo of the sheep instead of my gravel rash. 4  My new (to me)dress .  Felt strange wearing something I’d not made, but now I want more wrap dresses, so I’ve bought the new dress pattern …

#SundaySevens week 58 (me 33)

Hello everyone! Just a word of warning – don’t read on if you’re peckish!  Sorry no links to the wonderful Natalie who thought up the Sunday Sevens – I’m posting on a mobile device and it’s a bit tricky (well it is for me anyway!). Previous SS posts have links so take a peak if you’d like to find out more. Thanks for all the happy birthday wishes!  I’ve had a lovely week and most of my pics centre around my birthday. I’ve only worked one shift this week, hence the abundance of posts, hope I’ve not clogged up your reader or mail box too much! 1. We took a lady in labour onto the delivery suit.  Some of the staff when on their break were busy knitting little hats for the newborns who would be delivered over Christmas. Here’s one nearly finished.     2.  There’s some stunning photos about of the Autumn leaves changing colour. I took quite a few whilst playing golf but unfortunately I couldn’t quite catch how colourful they actually were. …

Happy Birthday #SundaySevens

Just a year ago Natalie from Threads and Bobbins started to share 7 photos from here week. One year on Sunday Sevens is still going strong and she’s not on her own! There’s quite a bunch of Sunday Seveners out their, including me! I was a late starter to the party so it’s number 26 for me.   Head over to Natalie’s special birthday blog Post where she’s put on a celebratory giveaway to 7 lucky readers!  1.   I made a start on a special pressie for a friend to send to her partner who is in the Royal Navy and is away somewhere in a submarine and will be away for his birthday. Ive printed these photos onto special paper that will be transferred onto fabric.    2.  H has started back at school in year 9.     3. Gemma picked up the finished pressie and brought me these! I much prefer choccies over wine!!     4. New shoes – comfy from M&S! Similar to my pink ones that I’ve worn to death …

Sunday Sevens Week 49 (me 24!)

These weeks are flying by, and those of you who joined Natalie right at the beginning of #Sunday Sevens I bet you can’t believe it’s nearly a year since it all started!  I wonder if Natalie is going to organise a party for us over at Threads & Bobbins?!     Here’s my week in sevenish photos: 1. Hubby’s work entered 4 teams in a golf day at Woodsome Hall Golf Club in Huddersfield.  His games not up to scratch so I stepped in and took his place! Woodsome Hall is steeped in history, it’s a 16th Century listed building set in the middle of stunning grounds which is now a golf course (and has been for over 100 years). The top photo shows the front of the building, and the one below show the 1st tee and putting green which would once have been the front lawn. It can be quite intimidating teeing off when there’s other golfers gathered round watching!     2. H’s last Yorkshire match of the season. Usually I take hundreds of …
