Reflection

Gosh, this was a really tough one for me.  I’d had to go back to 2011 in my photos to find some ‘reflection’ photos.  These were taken at Harewood House in North Yorkshire.  Definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in the area.   Linking in again with the 52 Week Photo Challenge from: Nanacathydotcom Rainbow Junkie The Aran Artisan Wild Daffodil

Path

Public footpaths.    There’s absolutely loads round and about where I live.  Not quite as spectacular as some I’ve seen posted this week but serve their purpose just the same. Here’s my nearest one – it runs down the side of our house. And opposite our house it continues on it’s way.  This footpath I used every day when I walked H to ‘little’ school and made an otherwise 20 minute walk to school only 5 minutes.   Linking in again with the 52 Week Photo Challenge from: Nanacathydotcom Rainbow Junkie The Aran Artisan Wild Daffodil

Friends

Crazy Friends….. Golf Friends…. Work Friends…. Lovely cricket mum Friends…… Blogging Friends   Best Friends….. I’ve had a delve into the archives for this week’s photo challenge and smiled a lot! All photos are between 3 and 5 years old except the work photo when we went out for a curry and the ‘lips‘ had a night out! Spring

There’s only one thing for me that signifies Spring is well and truly here and that’s seeing the lambs jumping about in the fields. These we quite an inquisitive group, and not scared of the bight yellow car that came to an abrupt halt to photograph then. One or two were quite springy on their little legs but I wasn’t able to catch them in mid air!   Linking in again with the 52 Week Photo Challenge from: Nanacathydotcom Rainbow Junkie The Aran Artisan Wild Daffodil

Outline

This week’s photo challenge was a tricky one I thought!  Then I remembered these photos hidden in the depths of my computer! The feature photo and the photo below have not been ‘doctored’ at all – the sky was literally on fire on a Saturday evening playing golf. I took these photos back in 2009 when I bought my first proper camera.  I didn’t really know what I was doing with composition etc and really wish I’d taken more care positioning my hubby so you could see his outline better. Solid

I thought of solid colours initially as this is a biggie for me – I buy so much beautiful fabric in all sorts of designs but then nothing goes together. So my aim this year is to try and only buy solid coloured fabric. But then whilst out shopping in our local farm shop is came to the freezer section – and it’s all frozen solid. Especially these Yorkshire Puddings at a bargain price of 12 for a £1 – homemade too!     Linking in again with the 52 Week Photo Challenge from: Nanacathydotcom Rainbow Junkie The Aran Artisan Wild Daffodil

Extra

I think if I didn’t offer an explanation for this one, only my mum would guess the connection for this week’s photo challenge. On Wednesday I worked a 12/12 shift, so should have finished at midnight.  Unfortunately due to the nature of my work  we don’t alway finish on time and last night was one of those times.  I left work 1 1/2 hours after my planned finish time.  So a very tired Thimbers climbed into her car after working an “extra” 90 minutes on top of her 12 hours.  On a positive note the extra dosh earnt will be spent on an extra glass of Mateus Rosé in Portugal! Tension

Today I joined in a fun team comp at the golf club.  It might be a fun comp but we still wanted to win!!  There was quite a few tense moments wondering if the putts would drop. Did it…………… No! Then in the clubhouse the tension mounted as we waited for Lady Captain to announce the winning team.  We came joint first, but ended up 2nd  on a count back (golf speak.  If the putt would have dropped we’d have won!!   Linking in again with the 52 Week Photo Challenge from: Nanacathydotcom Rainbow Junkie The Aran Artisan Wild Daffodil

Home

It’s 20 years this year’s since I ‘left home’ properly. Properly, as in I had a narrow escape and came back after the first attempt! It’s still home when I’m there, and I get roped into stuff just the same and i love it! Thanks mum & dad! Zero

The Definition of a Duck in Cricket – when a batsman is out without scoring a run. .  We had to share out breakfast with the residents!  A Golden Duck – The term used for the score of zero when a batsman is out on his first ball without scoring a run. It’s usually a very long walk back to the changing room after scoring any sort of duck! (scoreboard at the top – When Yorkshire Under 13B thrashed beat Lancashire last summer and batsman number 6 scored a duck).
