Here’s what I’ve been busy making this year………..
The first make of 2017 was a Molly Top in a chunky sweater knit:
Then I made these pattern weights and a draw string bag for my Secret Valentine Exchange gift. I also make a heart shawl in pink squishy mohair yarn.
More gift making followed. Time for the #sewdowndewsbury goodie bag.
Lekala 5669 – I just love this! It is a top pattern but was really easy to make it into a skirt.
The same dress shortened after my slimming world success
Another Molly Top.... I just love how versatile this pattern is and this wide striped striped ribbed knit is perfect for it.
Simplicity 1783 – A stretch denim skirt
A quick refashion using my hubbies golf top.
McCalls 7577 – The pattern that spurred me on to loose 20 pounds
Vogue 9242 – a top I made as a guest blogger for Minerva Crafts
Simplicity 1613 – a free pattern which came with the Dressmaker magazine in July. Made up in an ITY knit I picked up at #sewupnorth
McCalls 6612 – The Little Red Dress
The Japanese Asymmetrical Top from the Great British Sewing Bee
McCalls 6612 in a striped ponte knit with contrasting sleeves
Just love this and have worn it to death – another McCalls 6612
Yup, you’ve guessed it, another but with hacked sleeves, McCalls 6612
Errrm, not sure how to say thing, but yup, another McCalls 6612 but this time in a scuba knit
A franken pattern – Newlook 6648 and 6730
Haven’t sewn my own clothes in many decades … but envy that you’re making yours and looking lovely!
I wonder if the stripes can be done the other way – vertically. Few clothes are for the heavier person.
Golf true story: friends (all male) and I were playing golf at Bethpage in NY, and the young men (in their early 20s) were in front of us, taking their more time than necessary at every hole.
We finished the 9th and used the facility there to wash/etc. and to get a bit of sustenance. We were still unable to proceed to the 10th – and the foursome behind us approached. They were 4 excellent players – just short of pros.
I apologized to them for the backup – but that the foursome in front of us was very, very slow. She smiled at me and said “don’t worry, we have the same problem.”
My group finally got onto the green and just as I was ready to putt, I realized what Blondie said and I busted out laughing – as I looked back at her. She waved and smiled back.
