Sunday Seven week 46 (me 21)

Happy Monday! A belated Sunday Sevens…. sorry! I’m doing this on my iPhone as I’ve forgot to bring my iPad so it will be light on text as it’s not easy to write a blog post on a phone!
1. Meet my apprentice photographer, I didn’t see my camera until the match was over once Sophie got hold of it!

#sundaysevens 001

2. Played golf and wore my Osaka skirt i made a few weeks ago. It’s the first time I’ve had chance to wear this in ‘real’ life.

#sundaysevens 002

3. We watched H’s buddy play in a final.

#sundaysevens 003

4. H had a new haircut for his cricket tour. This is the shortest he’s ever had his hair. He said he thinks he’s now grown into his ears so can have it short!

#sundaysevens 004

5. Lunch out with mum and sister

#sundaysevens 005

6.  The view from my kitchen window in the caravan – my home for the week.

7. Extra guest this morning waiting for his breakfast.

Normal service will resume after my little holiday with links to Natalie’s Threads and Bobbins – the creator of Sunday Sevens.

The feature image is the cyber Ma & Pops kitchen. Isn’t it looking fab! It’s nearly finished!

Gadget Envy Giveaway!!

Remember my recent post about the amazing Goodie bag from Janome?

#GBSB goodie bag 5

There was a certain amount of gadget envy going around the blogasphere after then so I contacted the lovely people at Janome to see if they would like to sponsor a giveaway on my blog.

#GBSB goodie bag 4

And guess what!?

They said YES!!

So, I have 6 swatch buddies to give away!!

Not sure what a swatch buddy is?

Everyone wants to find the perfect materials for their projects but few really have the time to invest in creating and organizing their fabric swatches or paper samples on swatch cards for their shopping trips. This problem inspired a hassle-free swatching solution with the fast and easy Swatch Buddies Kits. Once you try them youll realise Swatch Buddies are just what you need.
The main kit comes with a lockable cable ring holding 12 plastic swatch cards, 12 stickers to hold your fabric on the card and 12 labels for identifying your fabric. As a bonus the kit includes 12 extra stickers and labels as the cards are re-usable.

There is also an expansion kit which includes 12 plastic swatch cards, 12 stickers and 12 labels.

So what do you need to do to win one!?

Just leave a comment to say what your favourite gadget is at the moment.  It doesn’t have to be a crafty one, anything that makes life easier!

It’s open to everyone – world wide!

The closing date will be the 1st August. Not to a set time, but I’ll do a draw on Sunday 2nd so if you’re comments in when I come to do the draw you;re in!

Looking forward to seeing what all your favourite gadgets are!

Sunday Sevens Week 45 (me 20)

Hi! Happy Sunday!  Here’s my roundup for this week’s Sunday Sevens from the last week.  Not a lot of creativity going on the Thimberlina household, but busy nonetheless!  I’ve had a real struggle to narrow it down to 7 photos, and that’s without cyber mom and pop’s kitchen – unfortunately there has been no progress this week – it’s going to be delivered any day, so hopefully there’ll be something to show you next week.  Some of the pics are taken on the same day, as on the days I was working they were very uneventful so nothing to show.

sundaysevens

1. I attended a dinner for Lady Captain’s day at the golf club.  The lady on each table who had a raffle ticket stuck under her side plate could take a table centre piece home, and on our table it was me!

#sundaysevens 6 (5)

2.  I’ve been a bit of a social butterfly this week and everywhere I’ve gone I’ve seen jumpsuits!! These are 2 of many…..

#sundaysevens 2 (16)3.   At cricket in Settle there was a man watching from behind the advertising boards.

#sundaysevens 5 (5)

4.  Wonder if the above man works here……!  Cafe in Settle.

#sundaysevens 7 (3) Old Naked Man Cafe

5.  Another pic from Settle.  This was a home match for us, Yorkshire played Cumbria, and beat them by 126 runs.  They did better than England have this weekend!

Can you see the Steam train in the back ground!?

#sundaysevens (18) settle steam train

6.  On Saturday we went to Ripon races.  I had a selfie with the bell ringer! I’m not a horse racey sort of person, but I just know that he had to ring the bell at the start of the race.  There’s photos of him doing it on my post at the same races last year here.

#sundaysevens 4 (6)

7.  I’ve managed to doing a few more laps on my huge granny square this week.  Each lap is taking about 2 hours!!  Some of you have seen it before – it started with just 3 balls of wool for something to pass a bit of time at work, but I loved it and kept searching out more wool in the same colour to make it bigger.  I got my last 6 balls from Minerava Crafts – they’ve got a huge selection of colours if you fancy making something similar.  The wool is King Cole Opium Cotton Blend and is made up of narrow yarn with chunky bits. So far on this I’ve used about 10 balls of wool and I’ve got 2 left.

The bottom pic is this week, the others are just to set the scene!

#sundaysevens 1 (16)

7a.  This is an extra one and was taken tonight after I’d picked my 7 photos.  An impromptu alfresco tea.  It’s unusual to have all the girls from the family in one photo – mum, sister and niece.

#sundaysevens 3 (11)

So that’s it for this week.  Hopefully the next week will be more productive – I’m only working one day!

If you’re new to Sunday Sevens head over to Natalie’s blog to find out more and join in too if you fancy sharing a bit more of goings on in your life outside your sewing room.

Sunday Sevens Week 44 (me 19)

Happy Sunday Everyone!

sunday-sevens-new-logo

Today is such a treat!  It’s my first full weekend off in 4 weeks!  H is at Nanny & Grandpa’s, hubby’s still knocking out the zzzzz’s after we had a late night at a wedding do (oops, wrote weeding do first!! no it wasn’t a garden party!), and now i’m just going to quickly do my Sunday Sevens before I knock together another Dimpsy T.  And we have absolutely NOTHING planned for today!!  Well, maybe just watch the first team play the semi finals of a cup match, see mum in law and do all the washing……so not much really!

Here’s my week in 7 photos.  I must say that at first (19 weeks ago!!) I found it hard to gather together 7 photos.  Now I always have too many and I love looking back at my pix of the last week.

1.  Driving through Halifax we saw a couple in an old Morris 1000 who’d just got married!  I couldn’t get a photo from the front, but they did look lovely!

#sundaysevens 2 (15)

2. There’s usually a pic’ from the golf course in my Sunday Sevens and this week is no exception. I’ve had to increase the exposure so you can just about spot this little fella in the tree!  Not a very good photo, sorry, as I got closer he didn’t scarper but he did hide behind some branches so I couldn’t take a close up.  He must be shy!

#sundaysevens 6 (4)

3. What a View!  This was taken on a road called Albert Promenade in Halifax.  I was stood by, sat eating a bacon buttie on a bench enjoying the view, looking across to Sowerby Bridge.  If any of you in the UK saw the series “Happy Valley” with Sarah Lancaster in, then this is the valley!   If you didn’t see it it’s worth watching on catch-up.  A bit gruesome in parts but very enthralling!

#sundaysevens 3 (10)

4.  H going out to bat.  We travelled up North for Yorkshire to play Northumberland.  We got them all out for 38, so our innings to bat was very short lived.

Northumberland 9th July 7

5.  As we’d travelled quite a distance (only 2 1/4 hours for us!) they decided to play a 20-20 match as the first game was over so quick and the boys weren’t ready for home.  I escaped for an hour and went to John Lewis in Newcastle.  We don’t have one near me but I believe we’re getting one in Leeds next year!  The fabric’s a bit pricey, but great quality and usually up to date with RTW clothes on the high street, so worth a visit if there’s a sale on!

#sundaysevens 5 (4)6.  Driving back I asked H to take a picture of the Angel of the North – this is the best one!!!!  Click on the link to see what you’ve missed!!

#sundaysevens (15)

7.  Me, hubby and Holly Jumpsuit having a night out!! Must say Holly’s a good dancer!!  I’m aching this morning!!

#sundaysevens 1 (15)

The ‘feature photo’ is an update on the kitchen!  This week the range cooker has been professionally cleaned and looks like new, the spotlights in the ceiling are in, and it’s had a couple of coats of paint.  The kitchen is being delivered next Friday and I have one very excited Mummy!!

Sunday Sevens?? Still not sure what’s going on??  SS is the brainchild of Natalie over at Threads and Bobbins – it’s your week (yes it could be yours too if you fancy joining in!) in 7 photos. Natalie’s very organised and even collates it all together on Pinterest.  Often we do things that don’t warrant a blog post of their own, but it’s still nice to share them we your blogging buddies!

Laura After Midnight’s Dimpsy T

A few weeks ago I bought Laura After Midnight’s new pattern the Dimpsy T.  I originally intended to make it for TMS Indie Pattern Month but life got in the way.

laura after midnight

Click on the photo to be taken to Laura’s Etsy Store – the pattern is available in PDF and Paper format.

Today, however, I needed a quick fix. As I’d already traced off for the Dimspy T it was easy to decide what to make!

I had traced it off in a size 14.  I’m really in between a 16 and 18 across the bust, but my greaseproof paper would only fit a size 14 on and I’d no sticky tape to hand, so a 14 it was!

#DimpsyTAs the size was likely to be a bit on the snug size I decided to make it up in a stretch fabric.  I had some fabric which hasn’t even made it upstairs to my stash yet.   I bought it when I popped into John Lewis in Newcastle on Thursday.  (it was only 3 miles away from H’s cricket match – how could I resist!).

Here’s what I brought!  Think I must’ve needed cheering up, or maybe brightening up after sewing my plain silk top!  The bottom left is a cotton lawn, and the other 3 are all jerseys.  If you’ve a John Lewis near you it’s worth a visit – a lot of the fabric is 50% off at the moment.

#JohnLewisFabric

I’m thinking kimono cardigan for the top right, sundress for bottom left, and maybe a jumpsuit in the top left!

Back to the Dimpsy!  It’s so easy to get side tracked!

The John Kaldor fabric on the bottom right wasn’t sold as a remnant but was only 0.5m.  I just about fitted the front and back of the top, though it was a couple of inches short.   I decided not to add the collar or facings as this was more of an experiment/muslin.   I also cut the back without the opening as I knew it would easily fit over my head in the stretch fabric so wouldn’t be needed.

I made it from start to finish in less than 2 hours, and I didn’t even rush, though I did have a bacon buttie break!

I love how the darts on the front give subtle shaping to the top.

#lauraaftermidnight #DimpsyT 6

It’s hard to make the darts out due to the bold pattern, but here you can see better from the inside.  (excuse loose threads – they are now sewn in!).

#lauraaftermidnight #DimpsyT 4

If you decide to make it read the instructions carefully as the seam allowances are different when sewing the darts/front part.

For the sleeves I used wondaweb – I did intend to stitch too, but changed my mind as I liked the smooth finish. (hope I’ve not upset the sewing Gods!!).   I never know what colour thread to use with this sort of fabric and it often spoils the look of a garment.

#lauraaftermidnight #DimpsyT 9

For the neckline i used strips of jersey aprox 1.5 cm wide stitched right sides together.

#lauraaftermidnight #DimpsyT 7I initially intended to turn this to the wrong side and stitch in place, but then this happened:

#lauraaftermidnight #DimpsyT 8It just flipped itself up, so I gave it a little press and it looks fab!  There are 3 layers of fabric finishing at the neckline.  I’ve seen something similar in the shops of RTW T Shirts.

#lauraaftermidnight #DimpsyT 5

The top wasn’t long enough for a proper turned hem so I had to improvise.  I found this pinky/peachy coloured lace in my stash, so just zig-zag stitched it to the bottom.

#lauraaftermidnight #DimpsyT 10

I used my sewing machine for all the seams. I sewed a row of regular stitches and 2 rows of narrow zig zag (don’t know why, just did!!).

#lauraaftermidnight #DimpsyT 3

So that’s it!  Is it a proper hack?  I deviated from the original design a little bit, so I suppose it is.  Laura’s planning to post more on her blog soon about Dimpsy Hacks so I’m looking forward to seeing what she comes up with.

Just a few more picks before I go!

#lauraaftermidnight #DimpsyT 11

Must’ve had an itch!!

#lauraaftermidnight #DimpsyT 12

Chilling on my new sofa, with au natural hair – off out tonight so not doing my hair twice in a day!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!  I’m going to a wedding night do tonight so am wearing my Holly Jumpsuit!!   Are you going out in any of your handmade garments tonight!?

The Goodie Bag!!

When I went on the sewing with silk day we were all given a Goodie Bag!!   Can’t believe I forgot to tell you about this little beauty!

It didn’t look too exciting at first glance.  A couple of magazines and a few leaflets.  BUT!!! On a closer inspection, and over a cup of coffee there was all this in the bottom of the bag………..!!

A box of 10 full sized spools of thread!

#GBSB goodie bag 1

I’ve not opened this but I think you stick bits of you fabric from your stash on these and keep them in your handbag for when you’re out and about. (correct me if i’m wrong!!)

#GBSB goodie bag 4

Scissor Buddy- fastens your scissors to your sewing machine so you don’t loose them. Ingenious!!

#GBSB goodie bag 3

Needles, tape measure, pen and a book a sewing feet!

#GBSB goodie bag 2

There was also 2 magazines from sew direct which have the new patterns from Vogue and McCalls in.

I know how a kids feels now when he gets a party bag!!

So all in all a fab day!!

Sewing with Heather and Silk – The Reveal

Remember I went on a sewing with silk master class with Heather Jacks from the GBSB? Well I have finally finished my silk blouse!  Not without a few choice words, a few tweets to Heather and quite a few moans of exasperation!

The sleeves had me and more than once it could have easily gone in the bin!  I usually sew sleeves in flat, then sew the side seams after.  I can’t remember ever using ease stitches for anything.

I sewed 2 rows of ease stitches at the end of my sewing lesson but didn’t have time to set them in.

Here’s what happened when I got home, after I’d bought some Janome blue tipped needles that Heather advised, and plucked up courage to tackle easing in silk sleeves!

#GBSB silk top sleeves 16

Firstly I sewed my ease stitches too big – I’d already rushed ahead before Heather told me to use small stitches.

#GBSB silk top sleeves 14

Even though things weren’t looking too good I went ahead and basted the sleeve in place.

#GBSB silk top sleeves 15

Not looking too good, the sleeves weren’t supposed to be all gathered and puffy like this!

#GBSB silk top sleeves 13

I unpicked everything and re-read the instructions. It was then I realised I had only sewn ease stitches between the dots and not the notches. You can just about make out the holes where the ease stitches were.

#GBSB silk top sleeves 12

Here are the ease stitches all the way to the notches. They’re 2.6mm in length, and I also took more care making them parallel to the edge of the fabric.

#GBSB silk top sleeves 11

Pinned! (yes mum I do have some!!).

#GBSB silk top sleeves 10

Basted! I’m feeling much better about it this time.

#GBSB silk top sleeves 9

from the wrong side basted – just checking it’s looking ok!

#GBSB silk top sleeves 8

Phew! Stitched!! These are going to be french seams, so another very deep breath taken!

From here on things went swimmingly!  I’m no longer afraid of sewing with silk.  The hems on the bottom and on the sleeve were a doddle.  Heather said to run the overlocker round the bottom to give a neat finish and make the edge easier to work.

#GBSB silk top sleeves 5

Not 100% sure if it really was the right thing to do, but I just folding a couple of mm past the overlocked edge and pressed.

#GBSB silk top sleeves 4

Then pressed again, about 1.5 cm – I just eyeballed it, no ruler sorry!

#GBSB silk top sleeves 3

And it turned out super neat!

#GBSB silk top 5

For the sleeve hems I turned over the second time just a little bit more than the first, the finished hem is only about 5mm.

I really love how it’s turned out!  It’s not really something I would normally wear as it’s a bit on the plain side, but I’ll definitely make more now I have the confidence to sew with silk, and other challenging fabric.

#GBSB silk top 9

The only thing I will have to change is to chop off the loop I made for the button and to make a smaller one as the button keeps coming undone.

#GBSB silk top 8

Here’s a few more photo’s shower the finer details:

#GBSB silk top 4

The french seams on the sleeves weren’t as neat as the other straight seams. It was a bit tricky to press them.

#GBSB silk top 6

Love how the wide end of the bust dart disappears into the french seam.

#GBSB silk top 1

No gathers, nips or tucks in the sleeve head!

#GBSB silk top 7

The inside is as lovely as the outside!

#GBSB silk top 3

Is it acceptable for facings to be visible like this from the outside?

#GBSB silk top 2

Close up of the button and the loop. I’ve never sewn a loop like this before by hand – I’ve always cheated and made a pretend one on the machine by sewing a small zig zag stitch over four threads.

So there you go!  My offerings from my first ever proper sewing lesson!  Thanks Heather!  I loved it!  Not just the sewing bit, the whole day!

If Carlsberg did Sunday Sevens……

sundaysevens

If Carlsberg did Sunday Sevens they wouldn’t be like mine, they would be like the week Sewchet’s just had!!

Anyway back to my week (but click on Sheila’s link if you want to see how a week in England is really spent when the sun is shining!).

1. H had a match for Yorkshire and scored 44 – his highest number of runs for them this season.  He was shattered on the way home and fell asleep.

#sundaysevens 8

2.  Nights! Yuck!  Even after 23 years they don’t get any easier.

It was about 4:45 am and I was heading into Huddersfield, returning back to area.  I saw the most amazing sunrise.  I pulled over and took a photo.  As I looked in my wing mirror, before setting off, a car over took me.  Then 2 cars racing each other about 60mph in a 30mph zone came flying past!  After they passed I set off and about 200yds down the road was confronted by a smashed up VW Golf – one of the cars that had just flown past!  Luckily the occupants were ok, but the car was a proper mess!  Thankful I’d pulled over to take this photo otherwise I could have easily been involved in the accident.

#sundaysevens 6

3.  Didn’t sleep too good during the day.  It was so hot and there was a bit of commotion next door/ I opened the curtains to see what was going on.  A digger was almost horizontal!  they sorted it out in the end – luckily no casualties!

#sundaysevens 5

4.  The ceiling has been re-plastered and painted in my mums kitchen. In the Feature pic dad’s sorting stuff out under the floor boards and I was helping measure the ceiling for the new lights.

#sundaysevens 7

5. Played my club knock out at golf…. lost ;-(    Lots of poppies at the side of the pond this week, more purple ones and a red one had flowered too.

#sundaysevens 46.  Twice this week we’ve managed to have a pretend BBQ on the electric grill, and eat outside!

#sundaysevens 3

7.  A rare treat today a Cricket.  Rain stopped play, but Claire (one of the other mums) brought Pimms so we retreated to hubby’s van to drink it!  I didn’t know until it was too late that she had laced it with vodka.   Naughty friend!  By 5pm I was tipsy. By 7 I was really tipsy.  At almost 10pm I’m just about able to write this post!

We had to use my crochet hook to stir the drinks!   Luckily the sun came out, play was resumed and we won!

#sundaysevens 2

Hope you’ve all had a lovely week in some shape or form.   I’ve not sewn as much as I’d have liked to this week, and I’ve had problems connecting with WordPress on my Iphone so am a bit behind with my blog reading.   Has anyone anneals had trouble reading blog posts using the WordPress App for iPad/Iphone?

If by some strange wonder you’ve not heard of Sunday Sevens, it’s the brain child of Natalie over at Threads and Bobbins.  Head over to see hers, and find out more.

Fancy joining in? ….The first couple of weeks are tough but it’s surprising how it opens yours eyes to what you do day to day when you need to show everyone 7 photos at the end of the week! And it does get easier, I often end up with 9 or 10 photos and have to try and narrow it down!

Sunday Sevens Week 42 (me 17)

sundaysevens

Hi Everyone! We’ve finally had a weekend of warmer weather and I’m working. But never mind, I’m off tomorrow and hopefully it’ll be a scorcher! Friday was my first shift back after being off at the start of the week. I woke up at 5am when my alarm went off and the first thing I thought was “oh shit no! I forgot to do my Sunday Sevens last night!!😳”.   After all it was Monday morning for me. It wasn’t until I was dressed that I realised i’d still another 3 days left of the week!! So now it’s your Sunday and I’ve got the Friday feeling! Confused??!!  Me too! Read on!

1. I don’t think this needs an explaining but it’s the highlight of my week, already has had it’s own post but still needs another mention!! My GBSB day with Heather Jacks! GBSB Heather jacks 2. We have a beautiful pond on the 11th hole at the golf club.  It’s wasn’t as beautiful this week as my ball went in it! Noticed this poppy though which I’d not seen before.  Isn’t the colour gorgeous? Purple poppy 3.  Girlie morning and lunch swapping patterns and ideas.  Love these get togethers.  Those of you who went on the Spoolettes meet up will recognise it’s Helen & Jeanie my non-blogging sewing pals. Spoolettes 4.  I decided to spring clean the conservatory and whilst the floor was drying I finished off my shabby chic picture frames outside with a coat of wax. Spring cleaning 5. H with his Grandpa! Seeing if he’s as tall, not quite but won’t be long! image 6. Called into another none blogging sewing friends house to nip to her loo have a nosey at her new sewing room whilst I was passing at work.  Her other half has converted one of the outbuildings into a dedicated sewing space! I want to move in!!!!  She’s holding up a bag she’s made from some old dungrees, AND SHE’S WEARING A JUMPSUIT OF SORTS and she didn’t know about jumping into June! Hazel….you’re proper cool and in the gang and you didn’t even know!!! image 7. One of the many lovely views I’ve had from my office this weekend! It’s been really busy and although I’ve been drafted into the the city for some jobs I’ve had a few rural trips too. image As usual I’ve too many photos! Sorry Natalie!! But if it’s ok I’m going to use my feature image to update you on my mums kitchen progress. She’s having a new one, and is sooooo excited. Dads had loads of work to do, including knocking down the wall between the kitchen and dining room.  So in the feature picture at the top is before, during the wall demolition and now.  The kitchen’s arriving at the end of July buts there’s still lots to be done. I thought you might be interested as it’s always good to looks for ideas in the kitchen as well as in the sewing room! Thanks Nat for thinking up the Sunday Sevens! If you want to head over to her blog – Thread & Bobbins you’ll beadle to read all about it!

GBSB Capri Pants – converted to an easy elasticated waist

I need more pants!  No not knickers, I mean trousers! Cropped ones for summer.  I’m living in my jeans and when we have the occasional warm day I’m stuck at just what to wear.  So I decided to make the Capri Pants which are in this years series of the GBSB book.

The pattern looked straight forward.  Side invisible zip and facings instead of a waistband.

I chose a denim with some lycra content.  Not sure how much, but they had a definite stretch rather than had ‘give’.  I sewed them up without the darts (i marked them but waited to add them) and basted the left side seam – but sewed all the others with a normal stitch length and overlocked all the edges..  I also stay stitched the waist band.

I tried them on and apart from taking in the centre front seam I thought they’d be ok.

#GBSB capri pants 1

I made 2 new rows of stitching for the centre front seem before I was happy with the fit.GBSB capri pants

After adding the darts I then found I could get them on without needing a zip.  (sorry no photo)

As I was keen to wear them I opted for an elasticated waist.  Here’s how I did it.

I chose a thick elastic (one bought ages ago to make Comox trunks – not done!)  sewing the 2 ends together 4 inches less than my waist measurement.  No maths here, just a guess and it worked.

I pinned it at the 4 seams and stretched it as I sewed.  I used the overlocker and kept it just away from the blade.   It was sewn to the right side of the pants.

#GBSB capri pants 3

It looked a bit messy – the stay stitches were showing.

IMG_7967

So I created a small fold just enough to cover the stay stitching and stitched with a narrow zig-zag.  No pinning, just bent the fabric as I sewed.

IMG_7969

This gave a really neat finish.

IMG_7968

Wayhay – they were finished!  I just overlocked the hem and turned them twice.  I wasn’t sure how long I wanted them, but as it happens I like them just turned so will be leaving them like that.

I wore them for cricket the next day and asked one of my pals to take some photos.  This was at the end of the game so they are a bit wrinkled as I’d been sat most of the day.

#GBSB capri pants 7

Initially we tried to be discreet  for the photoshoot, but we ended up making fools of ourselves because we couldn’t stop laughing.  Oh, and remember the lovely floral top I made? Doesn’t it just go with my new pants!!

I’d try to lighten the pics up a bit to show off the denim and the style better.

#GBSB capri pants 8

Think it might be a bit windy!!

#GBSB capri pants 9

“honey I shrunk the kids” comes to mind with the next photo!

#GBSB capri pants 10 #GBSB capri pants 11 #GBSB capri pants 12
#GBSB capri pants 15

Trying to show you the fancy red stitches from my overlocker.  Totally unintentional – I’d not changed the thread since making my pink stripy top.  Like it though!

#GBSB capri pants

The elasticated waist works really well, but they slipped down a bit.  Sarah, my new blog managed, was wearing jeggings.  They have proper belt loops and she wears a belt otherwise hers fall down too.  So I’m hoping to add them soon, and maybe some back pockets too.

I’ve just ordered some raspberry and some beige stretch denim online so will have a couple more pairs of these soon for the summer (what summer!!).

I think the elasticated version worked ok form me as I’m 1 to 2 sizes smaller on the hips than the waist so there’s not a huge difference.  If I was blessed with a tiny waist I don’t think it would work.  I don’t think it would work either for a woven fabric with no lycra content.

They’re really comfy, and don’t look at all home made.  They’re a looser fit than I thought they would be. Maybe that’s because I’ve used a stretch woven.

So that’s all for now folks.  Just to add this was the most fun photo shoots ever, as you can probably see from the laughing faces above.  Here’s another to finish off with!  I’m seeing Sarah again on Monday, wonder if I’ve anything unblogged that I could wear for another photoshoot!
